Juniors Parade Champions at 2023 Atlantic National Regional Preview Show
Young Angus exhibitors from across the country exhibited 122 entries at the 2023 Atlantic National Regional Preview Junior Angus Show, May 27 in Timonium, Md. Chris Wojciechowski, Middlebrook, Va., evaluated the 65 owned females, 25 bred-and-owned females, 10 bred-and-owned bulls, one cow-calf pair and 21 steers before selecting champions.
Austin Nowatzke, Michigan City, Ind., claimed grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors with BNWZ Paisley 2143. He’s a January 2022 son of PVF Insight 0129. He first claimed junior calf champion.
Weston Haag, Plymouth, Ind., owns the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull, HAAG Blackout 2321. He’s a September 2021 son of Silveiras Style 9303. He first won senior calf champion.
Kelly Spicer, Mount Airy, Md., led the grand champion owned female, SSF DS Lady 2262. The February 2022 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B first won early junior calf champion.
SCC SFC Phyllis 215 won reserve grand champion owned female honors. Suter Clark, Gretna, Va., owns the January 2022 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838 that first won reserve early junior calf champion.
SCC LaFrentz Phyllis 240 claimed third place overall owned champion female for Mercedes Ferree, Sullivan, Ind. The April 2022 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303 first claimed late junior calf champion.
Alyson Friesen, Arnett, Okla., led the fourth place overall owned champion female, Seldom Rest Bardot 1030. The February 2021 daughter of Silveiras S Sis GQ 2353 first won junior champion.
Oakley Sandy 2123 claimed fifth place overall owned champion female for Sadie Poole, Staunton, Va. The October 2021 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838 first claimed senior calf champion.
Allison Davis, Shelbyville, Tenn., led the grand champion bred-and-owned female, AED Rita 037H. The December 2020 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077 first won senior champion.
DDA Northern Miss 2211 won reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female honors. Reese Anderson, Chrisman, Ill., owns the April 2022 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077 that first won junior calf champion.
Oakley Sheza Queen 2270 ET claimed third place overall bred-and-owned champion female for Rob Oakley, Livingston, Tenn. The October 2022 daughter of EXAR Classen 1422B first claimed fall calf champion.
Piper Cates, Modoc, Ind., led the fourth place overall bred-and-owned champion female, SSF Sandy O252. The October 2022 daughter of M C SSF Night Sky 9088 first won reserve fall calf champion.
AED Rita 135J claimed fifth place overall bred-and-owned champion female for Allison Davis. The December 2021 daughter of Gateway Follow Me F163 first claimed reserve senior calf champion.
Victoria Meyer, Centre Hall, Pa., led the grand champion cow-calf pair. SCC Phyllis 011 is a January 2020 daughter of BCII Wrigley 0516. A March 2023 bull calf sired by SCC SCH 24 Karat 838 completes the winning pair.
Burns Fireball 2252 won grand champion steer. Blair Heath, Cooksville, Md., owns the April 2022 son of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838.
Isabelle Jonas, Damascus, Md., owns the reserve grand champion steer. SDF Style Me is a February 2022 son of Gateway Follow Me F163.
