Madison, Wis., hosted 675 Angus juniors and their families who traveled to compete in the 2024 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS) at the Alliant Energy Center from June 30 to July 6. National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) members took part in the "Showdown in Madtown” as they exhibited 963 entries during the weeklong event that included more than a dozen educational contests in addition to the cattle show. Grand Champion Bred-and-owned Female
Deatsman SA Eventress 123-62 won grand champion bred-and-owned female at the 2024 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), June 30 - July 6 in Madison, Wis. Collin Deatsman, Leesburg, Ind., owns the September 2022 daughter of SCC SCH 24 Karat 838. She earlier won senior champion. Deatsman also received the Robert and Marillyn Schultz Angus Scholarship. Tim Fitzgerald, Sullivan, Ind., judged the bred-and-owned heifers and bulls, and bred-and-owned and owned cow-calf pairs; Brian Fitzgerald, Kansas City, Mo., assisted with the bred-and-owned heifers and bulls, and bred-and-owned and owned cow-calf pairs; Lydell Meier, Clinton, Tenn., judged the owned heifers; Holly Gamble Meier, Clinton, Tenn., assisted with the owned heifers; Chris Effling, Highmore, S.D., judged the steers; and Alan Miller, Gridley, Ill., judged the phenotype and genotype bulls and females. A total of 963 entries were shown.

2024 National Junior Angus Showmanship Contest
Held in conjunction with the National Junior Angus Show
At the center of Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Madison, Wisconsin stood 15 showmen from across the country, with the title to be earned — Champion Showman at the 2024 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS). The culmination of years in the show ring in preparation had come down to one moment.
