Angus enthusiasts led 275 entries at the 2017 National Western Stock Show Super Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show, Jan. 11-13 in Denver, Colo. Scott Foster and Andrew Foster, both of Niles, Mich., evaluated the 218 females, 55 bulls and two cow-calf pairs.
SCC Tradition of 24 claimed the grand champion bull title after first earning the intermediate champion title. Cade Stertzbach, Louisville, Ohio, owns the May 2015 son of Wright SCC Bootlegger 0522.
Wilson Cattle Company, Cloverdale, Ind., owns the reserve grand champion bull. WCC Unique C112 is a November 2015 son of SCC First-N-Goal GAF 114 and was first named senior calf champion.
Austin Nowatzke, Michigan City, Ind., owns the grand champion female. CCC Sara’s Dream 5116 is a February 2015 daughter of Dameron First Class and first won junior champion.
Carter Ward, Plattsburg, Mo., claimed reserve grand champion female. EXAR Princess 5863 is a September 2015 daughter of BC II Skyfall 2812 and first won senior calf champion.
DAJS Lady Empress 537 won grand champion cow-calf pair. Andrew Hodges, Montague, Texas, owns the April 2013 daughter of DAJS Shockwave 612. A July 2016 bull calf sired by Leachman Explorer completes the winning pair.
Caroline Cowles, Rockfield, Ky., owns the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Champion Hill Georgina 8577 is a January 2014 daughter of S A V Bismarck 5682. A May 2016 heifer calf sired by S A V 004 Traveler 4836 is at side.
