We are currently seeking a replacement for our hard-working and longtime Angus Breed Managers for the Hoosier Beef Congress. There are typically 2 managers: one for the sale and one for the show. The ideal candidate(s) will perform the following tasks:
Breed managers attend 2 to 4 HBC meetings in Indianapolis to plan for upcoming show.
Sale breed manager:
Setup stall for sale cattle
Hanging pedigree cards
Fans if needed
Spreading mulch
Coordinate with consignors to collect registration papers, heath papers, and sale tags in cattle
Break classes for sale cattle show as well as coordinate help to line up sale cattle for show
Sale day: make sure cattle and consignors are ready and know their order of sale
Junior show breed manager:
Must be knowledgeable in Angus breed show rules
Will need to read over Breed rules for HBC prior to start of show and make any changes that are necessary
Will need to inform Angus board of Directors prior to any changes
Coordinate with Regional manager as to his or her availability for check-in. (reading tattoos stamp papers)
Coordinate check in help 5 to 6 people for heifer check-in and 2 to 3 for steer check-in, must remember Steer check-in generally takes place at the same time
Break classes for junior show. Breed managers usually do this together
Coordinate help for class line up in makeup area
Be available to answer any questions
